Dreamweaver lets you construct web pages with elements that are supported by all browsers (for example, images and paragraph text), as well as elements that are supported only by newer browsers (for example, styles and layers).
To help ensure that your site is viewable by the widest possible audience, Dreamweaver has three features for targeting browsers:
![]() |
Convert to 3.0 Browser Compatible. Use this feature to let visitors with 3.0 browsers see pages that look as much as possible like the ones you carefully constructed with layers and CSS styles. |
![]() |
Convert Tables to Layers. Use this feature to convert a 3.0 browser compatible file to a 4.0 browser compatible file and add the positioning and animation capabilities of layers and dynamic HTML. |
![]() |
Check Target Browsers. Use this feature to ensure compatibility with one or more browsers, to predict how different browsers will display your page, and to avoid HTML syntax errors. |
